Hi everyone! Here we are in Weeks 14 & 15 when the first part of the #KateBriggs24 project is only 16 weeks long. As we think about reaching the end of Part 1, Kim and I want to hold a wrap-up video call in early May.
If you are at all interested in participating in the next call, even a little bit, please fill out this survey to let us know what dates and times work best for you. We will schedule the meeting when the most people are available. Our last two meetings have been such fun — please consider joining us! Of course, we understand if video calls are not your thing. We are grateful for any and all participation. Speaking of which:
Stay tuned for plans on the next stage of the project. Our current thoughts are that we might do some supplementary reading in May (thinking specifically of Briggs’s smaller books and projects) and then begin The Long Form and How to Live Together in June. We are still pinning our plans down, though, and welcome any input you have.

Resources and Links
There’s a new interview with Kate Briggs available! Jaeyeon Yoo interviewed her for The Millions. The conversation is wonderful: don’t miss it. It’s focused on The Long Form, but includes discussion of This Little Art and translation.
Also don’t miss Rebecca Cullen’s latest post on #KateBriggs24, which has great meditations on translation, and also some feelings about Barthes.
For the haiku devotees among you, if you don’t have it, you might check out Robert Hass’s The Essential Haiku: Versions of Basso, Buson and Issa. This book gets a rave in the latest Commonplace podcast episode with Mary Ruefle.
You can find tons of resources and links and our full schedule at Kim’s #KateBriggs24 webpage.
